Privacy Guard is a browser extension designed to protect your screen privacy by automatically blurring or masking page content when your mouse leaves the browser window. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data Collection

Privacy Guard does NOT collect, transmit, or share any personal data.

What We Store Locally

The extension stores the following configuration data locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.sync API:

Extension enabled/disabled state
Protection mode preference (blur, overlay, or frosted glass)
Visual settings (blur intensity, overlay color, opacity)
Timing settings (trigger delay, transition duration)
Website whitelist (domains you've chosen to exclude)
Password protection settings (if enabled, stored locally only)

Data Storage Location

All data is stored locally on your device and synced across your Chrome browsers via your Google account (through Chrome's built-in sync feature). We never have access to this data.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal information (name, email, etc.)
Browsing history
Page content
Passwords or credentials from websites
Analytics or usage statistics
Any data transmitted to external servers

Children's Privacy

Privacy Guard does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
